Light Yellow Ochre Vallejo 73102: realistic desert dust, sand and light earth effects

Extra-fine powder pigment designed for light sand, dry earth and warm dust deposits with natural finishes. Its fine grain makes it easy to build up glazes and smooth transitions on metal, plastic or resin, and its non-flammable nature allows you to work safely indoors. The 35 ml jar goes a long way across multiple weathering projects and dries without unwanted shine.

For dry application, apply the pigment with a soft brush wherever dust would naturally accumulate (horizontal surfaces, recesses, tracks and running gear). Blend with a clean brush to tone down panels or break up uniform areas. If you want light fixing without losing texture, touch the pigment with a brush dampened in a fixer/binder; for extra volume, mix it with binder to a paste and create crusts and build-ups. Compatible with water, acrylics and varnishes; tools can be cleaned with water and soap.

Suggested uses: on vehicles operating in arid theatres (tanks, trucks and AFVs) it creates warm dust deposits and sand build-up; in coastal or desert dioramas it simulates fine sand and light dried mud; in urban scenery it adds light accumulated earth on kerbs and construction areas. Alternate layers of earth tones and light rust colours, sealing when needed to preserve the stratified weathering effect.
