Description
Brown Iron Oxide Vallejo 73108: realistic corrosion and deep ferruginous deposits
Extra-fine powder pigment designed for brown rust effects, settled corrosion and dark streaking with a natural finish. Its brown, iron-rich tone is ideal for advanced corrosion stages, enhancing rivets, seams and weld lines. The fine grain allows for glazes and smooth transitions over metal, plastic or resin, and its non-flammable nature makes it safe to use indoors. The 35 ml jar is enough for multiple weathering projects and dries without unwanted shine.
For dry application, place the pigment with a soft brush wherever it would naturally accumulate by gravity (horizontal surfaces, recesses, tracks and running gear). Blend with a clean brush to soften panels or break up uniform areas. If you want light fixation without losing texture, touch the pigment with a brush dampened in a fixer/binder; for extra volume, mix it with binder to a paste and create swollen rust crusts and build-ups. Compatible with water, acrylics and varnishes; clean tools with water and soap.

Suggested uses: on military and industrial vehicles it creates deep brown rust on chassis, exhausts, grilles and bolts; on railway stock it adds ferruginous dust to bogies, wheels and sleepers; in urban and industrial scenery it simulates aged beams, railings, pipes, containers and tanks. Alternate layers of orange and red rust, siennas and ochres, sealing when necessary to preserve the stratified weathering effect.
